The VA project was implemented in 1991 by MoDNR. MoDNR - PDWB contracted with CARES to conduct this assessment. The project is designed to determine which, if any, public water supplies are threatened by any chemicals being tested under the Safe Drinking Water Act.enThe metadata content associated with this data set was reviewed by Bruce Netzler on 20071012. The methods used for verifying locations are listed under the attribute named METHOD. See positional accuracy report for more information.nonenoneLocational accuracy varies based on the method used to locate the feature. Locations derived from United States Geological Survey (USGS) digital raster graphics (DRG) 7.5 minute topographic (topo) quadrangle maps are accurate to no more than 40 feet. Locations derived from USGS Digital Orthophoto Quarter-Quadrangles (DOQQ) are accurate to no more than 33 feet. Data collected using global positioning system (GPS) receivers are accurate to somewhere between 10 and 100 feet. Locations derived using the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) are accurate to no more than 165 feet. The accuracy of locations derived from other map sources varies. Specific accuracy for each record is given under the attribute named "ACCURACY"Elevation values reported to sub-foot accuracy were surveyed with precise instruments. Accuracy of that data is dependent on the accuracy of benchmarks used for the survey. All other elevation values are determined by locating treatment plants on USGS 7.5 minute topographic quadrangle maps and interpolating elevation values from the contours shown on the maps. Vertical accuracy is impacted by the accuracy of the data source, the methods used to locate each treatment plant on a topographic map, and the horizontal and vertical accuracy limitations of the topographic map used to determine elevation values.Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR), Division of Environmental Quality, Water Protection Program, Public Drinking Water Branch.MoDNR Water Resources Center.Center for Agricultural, Resource and Environmental Systems (CARES).20071012Public Water Supply Treatment Plants in Missourivector digital datanone20070331This coverage was developed by locating treatment plants from a variety of sources in office (see horizontal accuracy report) or by field use of global positioning system (GPS). This is an identifier used in linking public water system data to the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) and other data that use the seven-digit identification number. SDWIS is the official tracking system of public drinking water facilities for the state of Missouri. It contains additional information such as monitoring data, contact information, and treatment requirements.Number9PWSSIDEXTA ten-digit number comprised of the public water system identification number (PWSSID) with a three-digit extension. The seven-digit PWSSID number identifies the public water system to which the treatment plant belongs. Instead, each receiver records the satellite observations that will allow differential correction (in the case of pseudo-range-based positioning), or the processing of double-differenced observables (in the case of carrier phase-based positioning) at a later time. Data processing software is used to combine and process the data collected from these receivers.http://www.gmat.unsw.edu.au/snap/gps/glossary_i-q.htmGPS, Static ModeLocation determination when the receiver's antenna is presumed to be stationary on the earth. In the case of pseudo-range-based techniques this allows the use of various averaging techniques to improve the accuracy. Static Positioning is usually associated with GPS Surveying techniques, where the two GPS receivers are static for some observation period which may range from minutes to hours (and even in the case of GPS geodesy, several days).http://www.gmat.unsw.edu.au/snap/gps/glossary_r-z.htmBlankUnknownString30ACCURACYEstimated horizontal error of treatment plant location in feet.-9999 if unknownNumber9LASTUPDATEDate on which the record was last updated.String10FIDFIDNumber4Internal feature number.ESRISequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated.Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Resources CenterDave EricksonGeologistmailing and physical address
