MONITOR_SITES
This data set includes locations for air quality monitoring sites for which the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has data.
This data set was created as part of the department's efforts to obtain, improve, and utilize locational data for air quality monitoring sites. Locational data is required in order to enhance air quality analysis through modeling and monitoring of air pollutants.
The metadata content associated with this data set was reviewed by Jeff Schloss on 20101208. The metadata content review is intended to ensure that all of the required content is present. The components comprising the metadata document were reviewed by Jeff Schloss on 20101208. The metadata component review is intended to ensure that required metadata components are consistent and understandable to data consumers.

Locations were determined using orthophotography from the 2006 National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) and are accurate to no more than 40 feet.
Elevation data are estimated or measured using a variety of techniques which are not recorded for individual monitoring sites. Therefore the accuracy of individual values is unknown.
Data were extracted from a Microsoft Access database used by the Air Pollution Control Program to track air monitoring sites. A shapefile was created from the database export.
Data were updated to add additional monitoring sites.

These locations represent a best guess location for each added monitoring site.
