NPDES_OUTFALL
This is a point data set depicting outfall locations of wastewater facilities in Missouri with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) operating permits. As authorized by Section 402 of the Clean Water Act, the NPDES permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into the waters of the United States. Point sources are discrete conveyances such as pipes or man-made ditches. Wastewater discharges regulated under the NPDES program include but not limited to facilities such as industrial or commercial facilities, sewage treatment plants, transportation terminals and Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs).
The primary purpose of this data set is to link permitted features with specific classified stream segments in order to facilitate water quality based watershed planning, total maximum daily load (TMDL) development, and to produce Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required 305(b) reports.
The metadata content associated with this data set was reviewed by Michael Hill on 20101013. The metadata content review is intended to ensure that all of the required content is present. The components comprising the metadata document were reviewed by reviewer on Michael Hill on 20101013. The metadata component review is intended to ensure that required metadata components are consistent and understandable to data consumers.
One aspect of the metadata reviews is to ensure that attribute data are within the value ranges or domains described in the metadata. The data in this export have been maintained by staff using a business system since the time the metadata reviews were conducted, and errors may have been introduced through that system. Therefore we can no longer guarantee that the metadata accurately describe the values in the attributes. If you wish to report errors, please contact the person in the process_contact metadata element associated with this data set.

A digital raster graphic (DRG) is a scanned image of an U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographic map. The scanned image includes all map collar information. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the Earth. The DRG can be used to collect, review, and revise other digital data especially digital line graphs (DLG). When the DRG is combined with other digital products, such as digital orthophoto quadrangles (DOQ) or digital elevation models (DEM), the resulting image provides additional visual information for the extraction and revision of base cartographic information.

Missouri Public Land Survey
vector digital data
Missouri Public Land Survey is a polygon attributed 1:24,000 scale Geographic Information Systems (GIS) layer based on the 7.5' United States Geological Survey (USGS) topographic maps. This data set depicts the boundaries of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Sections and Land Grants within the State of Missouri. These data do not represent surveyed property boundaries and may not agree with surveyed boundaries on the ground. Based on 1:24,000 scale source data and adjusted to more accurate locations where data were available.
Shapefile
Attribute accuracy is tested by manual comparison of the source with hard copy printouts and/or display of the data on a computer. Accuracy varies from attribute to attribute.
This data set includes all permitted features for which locational data have been recorded.
Accuracy is described for each feature in the attribute "HACCURACY".
