Where possible, site information was also verified and/or updated with Global Positioning System (GPS) instrumentation. This layer was developed by a combination of on-screen using "heads-up" digitizing and GPS instrumentation. Each location was checked using Digital Orthophoto Quarter Quads (DOQQs) as base maps. This data set was compiled by finding the approximate location of each landfill based on information in the site file. The point is located in the approximate center of the disposal area. The actual boundary of the disposal area and the permit boundary are not depicted in this data set. Many landfills contain multiple permits and/or names. There may be numerous related fill areas and permits that are related, that are not depicted in this data set to avoid unnecessary duplication. In cases where multiple permits apply to the same site, or multiple fill areas exist, there may be several point features with the same or similar information in the attributes.20150730Katherine HuxolMissouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Solid Waste Management ProgramEnvironmental Specialistmailing and physical addressP.O.
