MoRAP produced and integrated data to map land cover for the Upper Silver Creek Watershed in Illinois. LiDAR elevation and vegetation height information and air photos were key data sets used for mapping. Other data sets, including National Land Cover Database 2011 (NLCD2011), National Agricultural Statistics Survey (NASS), National Wetlands Inventory (NWI), and Soil Survey Geographic Dataset (SSURGO), were also used. We used algorithms that considered water regime and landscape context to assign ranks for wetland restoration importance.
The East-West Gateway Council of Governments (EWG) serves the eight county St. Louis region, five in Missouri and three in Illinois. The mission of the organization is to “recognize, analyze, and promote broad-based understanding of regional problems, issues, and opportunities; and to give special attention to the identification and assessment of emerging issues.” Since 2008, MoRAP has helped EWG to pursue the Ecological Approach to Infrastructure Development, which has resulted in the development of ecologically focused data layers used in the development of the region’s long-range transportation plan, RTP 2040.
Data are intended for use us with base maps and digital aerial photography at a scale of 1:12,000 or smaller.

None. Precautions - Federal, state, and local regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over wetlands may define and describe wetlands in a different manner than that used in this inventory. There is no attempt, in either the design or products of this inventory, to define the limits of proprietary jurisdiction of any Federal, state, or local government or to establish the geographical scope of the regulatory programs of government agencies. Persons intending to engage in activities involving modifications within or adjacent to wetland areas should seek the advice of appropriate federal, state, or local agencies concerning specified agency regulatory programs and proprietary jurisdictions that may affect such activities.
