This feature class contains watersheds associated with Missouri's use designations for waters listed in Table E - Outstanding State Resource Waters of the Water Quality Standards rule published in the Missouri Code of State Regulations, 10 CSR 20-7.031, on January 29, 2014 and approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, on October 22, 2014.
The primary purpose is to delineate the watersheds described in 10 CSR 20-7.015(6)(B) for the streams listed in Table E.
The metadata content associated with this data set was reviewed by Ethan Curry on 20170706. The metadata content review is intended to ensure that all of the required content is present. The components comprising the metadata document were reviewed by Ethan Curry on 20170706. The metadata component review is intended to ensure that required metadata components are consistent and understandable to data consumers.

The NED is a seamless mosaic of best-available elevation data. The 7.5-minute elevation data for the conterminous United States are the primary initial source data. In addition to the availability of complete 7.5-minute data, efficient processing methods were developed to filter production artifacts in the existing data, convert to the North American Datum (NAD) 83, edge-match, and fill slivers of missing data at quadrangle seams.

Table E watersheds match the Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) boundaries in the Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD), where applicable. Table E watershed boundaries smaller than any given WBD-HUC boundary retain the boundaries derived from the DEM - 10M.
Watersheds of the following karst features listed in Table E are not included in this feature class: 10015 - Cathedral Cave 10022 - Devils Ice Box Cave Branch 10037 - Onondaga Cave Branch
Horizontal positional accuracy is dependent on statements of accuracy made for the USGS 1:24,000 National Hydrography Dataset (NHD), WBD-HUC10, and the DEM-10M, which were the data sets used in the creation and the review of this data set.
USGS Water Resources Division (WRD) and U.S. Department of Agricultural (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) (WBD).

10-digit Watershed Boundary Dataset
vector digital data
This file contains Hydrologic Unit boundaries and codes for the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The data is a seamless National representation of HUC boundaries at HUC2 to HUC12 levels compiled from USGS NHD and USDA NRCS WBD sources. This data is intended primarily for geographic display and analysis of regional and national data, and can also be used for illustration purposes at intermediate or small scales (1:250,000 to 1:2,000,000).

In addition to the availability of complete 7.5-minute data, efficient processing methods were developed to filter production artifacts in the existing data, convert to the NAD83 datum, edge-match, and fill slivers of missing data at quadrangle seams. One of the effects of the NED processing steps is a much-improved base of elevation data for calculating slope and hydrologic derivatives. The specifications for the NED 1 arc second and 1/3 arc second data are: Geographic coordinate system Horizontal datum of NAD83, except for AK which is NAD27 Vertical datum of NAVD88, except for AK which is NAVD29 Z units of meters.

Dangles were created from the NHDFlowline for the most downstream point(s) of the Table E features. Where NHDFlowlines were missing or incorrect, the pour point was manually placed on the correct cell. Watersheds were elevation derived using a process model with dangles at 15 meters and manually placed points at 10 meters. The raw raster data was converted into polygons without smoothing in order to maintain accuracy of surface traces where the watersheds were smaller than the available WBD-HUC boundaries. Polygons were created using the applicable WBD-HUC boundaries containing the OUTS_STATE_S features and dissolved to create a single watershed where needed. Where applicable, tracing was used to edit the polygons to match the elevation derived boundaries.
